In food retail prices do not change quarterly but with the delivery day. Anyone mapping that on paper reprints every week or tapes corrections over old labels. A digital surface takes on the new price the moment it is set.
No other retail format has as many price changes as food retail. That is exactly where the value sits: not in prettier pictures, but in there no longer being a print shop between the decision and the display.
Seconds, not weeks
Change the price, done
New delivery, different cost price, stock that has to move: you change it in SCRN Cloud and the surface shows it immediately — at every site at once.
Scheduling
Breakfast in the morning, dinner at night
Bakery items in the morning, lunch snacks from eleven, barbecue range in the afternoon. The surface switches automatically, without anyone remembering.
Markdowns
Move stock before it expires
Short-notice promotions on expiring batches can be published instantly — the classic route via printed leaflets is too slow for that.
Checkout zone
Use the waiting time
At the checkout the customer stands still. It is the one surface in the store where attention is guaranteed — for promotions, deposit information or your own loyalty scheme.
Several stores
Central control, local exceptions
One price list for all branches, with exceptions per site. Anyone calculating differently by region maps that in the same interface.
Continuous operation
From morning to closing
Fourteen hours a day, seven days a week, often with standing price boards. That is exactly what our panels are built for — consumer televisions burn in.
[ 02 ] On the sales floor
What counts inside the store.
A store is brightly lit, loud and in motion. A surface that works here has to be readable from a distance and must not compete with the ceiling lighting.
From 500 cd/m² on the sales floor, considerably more in the window — shop lighting is brighter than a living room.
Burn-in protection for price boards that stand unchanged for days.
Portrait and landscape — portrait at the shelf head, landscape above the fresh counter or in the checkout zone.
Fire-safety compliant with commercial approval, which consumer devices regularly lack.
For a standard setup we plan one to two weeks from your first message to live operation.
We look at the store
Where do customers stand still, where do they walk past, how bright is it at that spot? Position, diagonal and format follow from that.
Price display becomes a layout
We build templates you only enter prices into: clear columns, large figures, room for promotion flags.
Installation during trading
Our team mounts outside peak hours so selling does not stop. Mounts made to measure, at the shelf or freestanding.
Handover and operation
Your store team changes prices itself — that takes minutes, not days. Monitoring keeps running on our side.
[ 04 ] Cost
What it costs.
You buy the displays once, the software runs as a monthly licence per display. The concrete quote follows the briefing — these figures give you the order of magnitude.
For standard cases we work with templates your team enters prices into — done in a few minutes. An automatic connection to a till or ERP system we assess case by case; tell us which system is in use.
How many displays do I need in the store?
Fewer than you might think. The places worth covering are where customers stand or decide: checkout zone, fresh counter, entrance. Three well-placed surfaces work harder than ten scattered ones.
What about price-marking rules and legal certainty?
Digital price displays are permitted as long as the price is clearly assigned to the goods. We design templates so that assignment, unit price and quantity stay legible — the case-by-case legal assessment remains with you.
Do the displays cope with continuous operation?
Yes, they are rated for 24/7 and built for 50,000 operating hours — at fourteen hours a day that is close to ten years. Burn-in protection covers standing price boards, where consumer devices fail.
Can we control several stores centrally?
Yes. You maintain one price list and publish it everywhere, or give individual stores their own promotions. Surfaces running in sync need SCRN Premium.
Can we keep our existing screens?
Often yes. We check free of charge whether the devices can be connected to our CMS and then take over content, control and maintenance — regardless of who supplied them.
Where in the store should the surface go?
Send us a photo of the entrance, the checkout zone or the fresh counter — then we will tell you which format fits and what it costs. Reply within two working days.
