Guests ask reception the same things every day: when is breakfast, where is the meeting room, how do I get to the station, what is the weather tomorrow. Every one of those costs time at the desk — and every one can be answered on a surface guests walk past anyway.
In a hotel surfaces work in places with entirely different purposes: in the lobby for atmosphere and orientation, outside meeting rooms for occupancy, in the breakfast area for flow and notices.
Lobby
Welcome and orientation
Weather, time in several zones, breakfast hours, events in the house. The surface takes the standard questions off reception.
Meeting rooms
Occupancy at the door
Which event, which company, which time. Instead of a laminated sheet it shows the current state — even when something changes in the morning.
Multilingual
English, German and more
Content switches automatically between languages. For international guests that is the most visible difference from a printed notice.
Calm
Atmosphere, not an ad break
A hotel lobby lives on calm. We work with slow transitions and dark layouts that do not glare into the room in the evening.
Scheduling
Morning, day, evening
Breakfast notes in the morning, excursion tips during the day, bar hours in the evening. The surface follows the rhythm of the house.
Several properties
Maintain centrally
Set group-wide content once, add house-specific items per site. No shipping of printed material to every hotel.
[ 02 ] In the lobby
Large surfaces, high ceilings.
Lobbies are tall, often with daylight from several sides. A single 55-inch surface looks lost in one — here a larger diagonal or a video wall is usually worth it.
Diagonal by viewing distance — at eight to ten metres, 85 inches or a video wall of several panels is the right choice.
From 500 cd/m², considerably more with glass façades and skylights.
Frame-accurate synchronisation when several panels are to act as one surface — otherwise the images drift apart.
Automatic dimming, so the surface does not overpower the lobby lighting in the evening.
Layouts for welcome, daily programme, room occupancy and weather — in the visual language of the house, not in a stock template.
Installation
Displays come from stock, our team mounts wall, stand or video wall including mount and calibration.
Handover and operation
Reception maintains occupancy and notices itself. Recurring content runs automatically, monitoring stays with us.
[ 04 ] Cost
What it costs.
You buy the displays once, the software runs as a monthly licence per display. The concrete quote follows the briefing — these figures give you the order of magnitude.
For standard cases we work with templates reception maintains in minutes. An automatic connection to a property-management or calendar system we assess case by case — tell us which system is in use.
How large should the surface in the lobby be?
The viewing distance decides. As a guide: diagonal in centimetres about one sixth of the distance. At eight metres that lands at 85 inches; in larger lobbies a video wall is the calmer solution.
Does a bright surface not disturb the atmosphere in the evening?
Only if brightness and content are set wrongly. We work with dark layouts, slow changes and automatic dimming — in the evening the surface runs considerably reduced.
Can content run in several languages?
Yes. Content alternates between languages at a set rhythm, usually English and German. Further languages are possible where the guest mix calls for it.
Can we control several properties centrally?
Yes. Group-wide content can be set once and extended per house. Surfaces running in sync in a lobby wall need SCRN Premium.
Can we keep our existing screens?
Often yes. The check costs nothing. If the devices are fit for continuous operation we take over content, control and maintenance.
